It was actually the above image that started off my inspiration for this Mother’s Day themed moodboard. For me, this image has many meanings. Like the little girl in this photo, I look up to my Mom. She has inspired me and encouraged me to do anything and everything I’ve ever dreamt of doing. She also started me in and taught me {literally, she was my teacher} the art of dance. She gave me one of the greatest gifts ever – she started this life long passion I have for dancing and for teaching.

Not only has my Mom taught me and my sister to be great dancers and teachers, she has taught and inspired thousands of other students the very same things. Many of my Mom’s students call my Mom their “second mother” – but I’m lucky enough that  she actually is my Mom. Being a business owner/mother for the last 30+  years she has shown me that you can do what you love, be a leader, inspire others, and not be afraid to go for your dreams.  I think everyone will say that their Mom is the kindest, most loving, wonderful person on the planet…but mine really is {and she has hundreds of students that can back me up on that!}.

And so, this moodboard is dedicated to my Mom, Kathy. Each one of these images has a special meaning to our relationship. Mom, thank you for being selfless, for always pushing me to be better and for just being you.

Although I’m not a mom, I know it can often be a thankless job. So go out, give your mom a hug, and tell her thank you…for everything.

We’re celebrating Earth Day a day late with this nature inspired moodboard. I used the center image of the eye as my starting point and pulled in the beautiful greens and blues that we all associate with our Planet Earth. I was tempted to pull in other non-nature related images {see a few on our Earth Day board on Pinterest}, but I wanted this moodboard to be a tribute to all the beautiful colors and creatures that are found within nature. From butterflies, to sea glass, beaches to waterfalls, we should all take more moments to stop and appreciate the world around us.

Even though shades of red are the “traditional” Valentines Day color, I was thinking pink while creating this moodboard. It’s truly a mix of items I love – flowers, food, sunsets – what else could could a girl ask for on Valentines Day?

Winter is definitely upon us. The last few days have brought freezing temperatures and snow and we’re only into January. We have a few more months before we begin to thaw!

But enough of the negative – today’s moodboard is intended to brighten up your winter “blues.” Between the shoveling, icy roads and heavy sweaters we forget that the winter can be beautiful too. Enjoy!
