Noted :: Are You Linked In…To The New Linkedin Company Pages?

Have you looked at your Linkedin Company Page recently? If you’re one of the 2+ million companies that have a Company Page on Linkedin, you might have noticed a brand new design. Earlier this month, Linkedin allowed a select few companies’ early access to the new company page design such as HP, Hubspot, and American Express. Shortly after, Linkedin rolled out its new Company Pages to the masses.

Predominately, the changes made to the company pages are design related. The Linkedin makeover, in my opinion, looks similar to the Facebook brand pages – right down to the large cover image that spans the top of the profile. They also added a “profile picture” which can display the company’s logo next to its name. One of the other positive changes that was made was making the company updates the focus of the page – they are no longer hidden under the company profile and description. This allows for fans to easily navigate the page to interact and share/comment on any of your company’s updates. The stream of content that appears to Linkedin members has also been streamlined – members should notice more relevant content directly related to their interests and needs.

For companies, Linkedin stated “this new look and feel makes it easier for companies to tell their employer story and make the job hunt process more personalized for job seekers” and for members, “{t}he new streamlined design makes it easier for you to find exactly what you are looking for, whether it’s company news and information, career opportunities, products and services, or insights.”

What do you think of the new design? Have you updated your Linkedin company page and taken advantage of the new features? Social media is foraging ahead with new additions everyday and with social media platforms constantly changing, businesses need to adapt quickly to new media updates.

If your company is actively using social media, leaving a profile page or platform with outdated or old formatting can be detrimental to your social media efforts and company perceptions. With so many businesses using these types of platforms keeping your company on top or ahead of the trends will require some work but will be well worth it.
