Well, shoppers, as of today, it’s officially LESS than two weeks until Christmas morning. Don’t panic, I’m here to help.
Now, I don’t know about you, but one of the most challenging people on my list is my loving husband. It’s not that I don’t know what he likes, it’s just that he’s a unique blend of hyper-picky and extremely modest which means he says he doesn’t want anything, but I know whatever I get him will be highly scrutinized.
To help out all us ladies, I’ve included a couple ideas for the man in your life that have managed to past muster with my husband – the King of Picky.
Next, I’ve included some ideas for the children that I hope will light up their little faces Christmas morning. And last, but certainly not least, gifts for the workaholic – we all know at least one (besides ourselves, of course). Yes, this is basically my personal wish list. You got me. (Psst. Honey, if you are reading this, BIG hints below!).
So roll up your sleeves and let’s get going – we still need time to wrap!
For My Man ::
Man Cave Sign: It could be the garage, a spare bedroom, or at the Graver compound, that would be his shed. But, let’s just call it what it is with this awesome sign.
Bourbon Barrel Maple Syrup: Amber maple syrup with a hint of whiskey. Need I say more?
Camping Survival Tool: If your man is anything like mine, he takes his responsibility of protecting our family very seriously. This tool is right up his alley with 10 – count ‘em, 10 – big safety functions. I feel safer already.
Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Pint Cups: I imagine these would be good for “camping with the boys” (translation: drinking beer in the woods or fishing on the boat).
Brag Book Leather Photo Album: One of my husbands’ favorite gifts from me was a photo album with pictures of our kids together with him (and a few with me, but as the family photographer, I’m rarely caught on film). Men like to boast about their offspring too, and this good-looking masculine leather album is just the ticket to cool braggin’.
For the “Good List” Kids ::
Bike Brightz: Tweak out your ride with these sweet LED lights. They’ll be too busy admiring how cool they look to notice Mom feels just a little safer knowing they’re lit up like Santa’s sleigh. It’s a win/win.
Lego Drinking Bottle: How cute are these? So cute, I’m hoping my kids will stop forgetting them on the playground! (Hey, a Mom can dream …).
Talking Electronic Chess Master: You know the super smart kid on your list who will be bored with most games unless they are super challenged? Well here’s a way to keep them in check (get it? In check?) by pitting them against this talking chess computer – instead of you. (You’re welcome).
Graffiti Razor Scooter: For the tireless, the fearless and the energetic. Let ‘em ride to their heart’s content.
For the Workaholic ::
Dream Bank: What good is working hard if you can’t dream a little? This shadow box bank allows you to insert an aspirational image of your choosing. They can watch as their pocket change makes their dreams a reality.
GRID-IT! Organizer: Do you lose small stuff in your briefcase? Me, too. Until I bought one of these GRID-IT Organizers. I use it for pens, highlighters, iPhone charger, iPod and headphones, glue stick, and my thumb drive. No more wasted time hunting in the bottom of my bag because the GRID-IT is easy to spot. Chaos managed!
Masterpiece Theater: Downton Abbey: Sometimes being a workaholic means you are the last to know when a cultural phenomenon happens. Some I’m happy to have missed (like I still am unclear who Honey Booboo is). Others are just too brilliant to let passby. Downton Abbey is one I’m fortunate to have stumbled across. So, if you have a workaholic on your list, please gift them this series. They can catch up just in time for Season 3 on PBS to start on January 3, 2013 and I guarantee they will be thanking you all year!
Password Directory: Because I can’t remember One. More. Thing.
Binchotan Eye Mask: Someday I’ll sleep again like a normal person. Until then, I’d welcome this thoughtful gift. Also great for business travelers and new mommy’s, too!
Happy Holidays!
