Noted :: Melissa’s 2012 Gift Guide

Well, shoppers, you are in for a real treat today. We happily present the newest member of our Elements family – Melissa. Some folks know her as FauxMartha, the name of her deliciously popular food blog. But around the studio, she is Melissa – our wildly creative, super friendly, always ready-to-share-the-latest-trend designer.

And today she shares her talent for spotting the hip just for us! She knows food. She knows design. She knows coffee. Put them together and if anyone on your list falls into one of those categories, you are golden.

Thanks for sharing, Melissa! So, here you go – our final Gift Guide in our 2012 series ….

For the Foodie:

What Katie Ate cookbook: Katie is a graphic designer turned foodie/photographer—a woman after my own heart. Her book is filled with not only drool worthy recipes, but jaw dropping photography. This one belongs on the coffee table for all to see.

Olivewood Paddleboard: I always seem to be looking for simple ways to dress up a dish. This paddleboard can make anything look like a work of art.

Whimsy and Spice tea towels: How often do you get caught in the middle of a recipe asking yourself—how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon? You can go wrong with this multifunctional tea towel.

Red Scale: For all those recipes calling for ounces or grams, a countertop showpiece is in order.

For the coffee lover:

sling shot coffee: Not only is their design pretty, their coffee is a match. A stocking stuffer at its finest.

chemex: For the coffee purist on your list—they’ll love you forever when you wrap up a Chemex. Don’t forget to buy a filter (reusable steel or disposable).

Blue Bottle Craft of Coffee: This book is fit for the coffee aficionado on your list. Filled with terms like pour-over, bloom, cupping—only things they’ll be able to understand.

Airscape Coffee Canister: Beans are always best fresh. Keep oxygen from creeping in and shortening their life with this Airscape Coffee Canister.

Criminalize Decaf: Hi. This is Amy. I’m “blog-bombing” Melissa’s list for a minute (Sorry, M!) to add this cool poster to your “coffee lovers” list. I think this poster is perfect for the hardcore coffee drinkers out there. Yeah. You know who you are.

For the crafter:

Craft Inc book: The crafter on your list will reap the benefits two times over with this book. Buy stock in them now.

Bright colored tape: Target’s version of everyone’s favorite washi tape—it’ll brighten up any project or note.

Paper flower kit: I love having flowers around the house, but it’s always a little sad when they wither. You can’t go wrong with everlasting homemade paper flowers.

24- pack of glitter: Crafters love it. Everyone else hates the messy stuff. Buying this glitter pack is an act of love this holiday season.

Best holiday wishes everyone!
