Noted :: Over the Rainbow

Last weekend, we celebrated my daughter’s 6th birthday with a party. Deciding this year’s party theme was easy, I mean what 6-year girl doesn’t love rainbows and horses? Well, love them she does. A lot. So I proudly present to you Adaline’s rainbow/horse-themed 6th party. And, what a party we had held at Fox Field Farms – a lovely and pretty horse-riding farm in Branford.

We set-up Addie’s beloved Lemonade stand for the party next to the horse corral. Addie thought it would be nice to have a cold apple and pink lemonade after each friend had a ride. Next we decorated the tables inside the barn where we had our lunch and cake after every kid had a horse ride and several turns on the tractor adventure. Later, we played games such as a watermelon eating contest and whacking open a pinta. Then, back outside for more rides. An exhausting, but exhilarating, day. Happy Birthday Addie!

Credits: First, a huge Thank  You to Taylor her staff at Fox Field Farms for the wonderful use of your farm and rides on your gentle and loving horses. The amazing rainbow cake was made by Shelley Johnson of Shoreline Desserts and believe it or not, it was as delicious as it was spectacular. What styling there was was done by me with a ton of help from my loving husband along with my family and friends – thanks guys! And finally, I saved the best for last. All the fabulous photography you see here was shot by the very talented, and very sweet, Simone Gutkin of Archive Photography. Simone captured the spirit of the day beautifully. There were so many great shots, in fact, I had trouble editing them so … enjoy!
