Blogs I Like – Amy’s Edition

At Elements, we use blogs everyday for everything from design inspiration to gift buying. We all have our favorites. And that’s how we came up with the idea to share with you each of our favorite blogs and just why we love them.

I volunteered to go first, but look for each of us to share our blog list for the next four Wednesday’s.

We’d also love to hear from you! What are your favorite blogs {aside from ours, of course!}?

THE DIELINE: This is the gold standard blog for all things packaging. The packaging featured on the Dieline is the latest and greatest examples being designed today. I visit this website at least once per week mainly for inspiration and ideas on packaging trends, materials and techniques. But, I also love to peek and to see who is working on what.

DESIGN OBSERVER: This is my go to news site. Design news, that is. Smart articles, written by thought leaders in design, on topics of design that always interest me. You have CNN. I have Design Observer.

OH JOY! : This happy, colorful, joyful lifestyle blog is run by my friend and fellow graphic designer Joy Cho. I love checking in with Joy via her blog to visually follow her through creative projects, food, outfits, guides and adventures. It’s amazing to me that she has the same amount of time in her day as I do in mine. She never seems to run out of energy … or new pursuits! I read this blog because it makes me happy and I love her style. I get great ideas on everything from new foods to try to new outfits to try on.

GLITTER, GLUE AND FIREFLIES: Another friend and fellow graphic designer of mine is Lucinda Wesson. Although Lucinda has a slightly smaller following than Joy, she shouldn’t. Her eye for styling, details, and capturing life’s beautiful moments in heartfelt, sincere writing never fails to deliver. I only wish she posted more often {as in, several times per day!}. I read Lu’s blog because I love her style. She is my designer counterpart. Her style and stories speak directly to me.
