Father’s Day :: A Tribute to Our Dad’s

With Father’s Day just a few days away, we wanted to share a few words about our dads. Our father’s have shaped each of our lives and helped us become the people we are today. Dads are always full of advice and have a knack for finding ways to apply some of their favorite saying to just about anything. Here are some of our favorite pieces of advice from our fathers:

AMY’S DAD ::

Amy's Dad

My Dad’s favorite advice actually came from my Grandpa Benjamin, passed along to my Dad, down to my brother and I – and now, I hear myself saying it to my children.
My big brother David was famous for his lack of modesty, so he heard this one often:
“If you are great, you don’t have to say it. People will know it. If you aren’t great, people will know that, too.”
Thanks, Dad!

CHELSEA’S DAD ::

I look to my dad for lots of advice, on everything from gardening to financial planning – but one of my favorite lines of his was, “If you can’t beat ’em with brilliance, baffle ’em with bullshit.” It’s a funny line, but it’s truly one that’s echoed in my head over the years in times of uncertainty. It’s gotten me through some tough moments and made me smile.
Thanks, Dad… Happy Father’s Day! (Hope you don’t mind me sharing our little secret with the world.)

KATHRYN’S DAD ::

Kathryn's Dad
My Dad is the hardest working person I know. He has given so much of himself and his life to his family, putting us before himself at all times. He has always been willing to help in whatever way he can, and when he does, he devotes all of his time and focus until the job is done. He is a details man – honing in on the little things that make up a big picture. Though my Dad certainly cannot take credit for being the first person to say this, “measure twice, cut once” is his mantra and he has instilled that in me. I apply it to my life all the time – and I thank him for all of his love and support. I don’t know who I would be or where I would be without him.
Love you, Dad!
~ Kathryn
