Fresh Content? Coming Right Up.

I’m often asked, ‘what should we be posting about?’ and ‘how do we find content?’ I’ll admit, continuously coming up with new, engaging content can be challenging. But, with a little creative thinking and planning, you have more you have more content available than you think! Below are 19 tips to help inspire you think outside the box and create fresh content for your social media, blog, newsletter, or any other efforts that require generating content to promote your company, product or service.

Tips for creating fresh content:

  1. Take a photo — around your office, of someone who inspires you, your favorite place to brainstorm, etc. — and create content around the image. Why is it inspirational to you? What did you learn from this place, person or time? Maybe pair the image with a quote as it relates to your business or work philosophy; let the image inspire your words.
  2. Ask someone to ‘guest’ post or blog who has knowledge in your industry.
  3. Ask someone to takeover your Instagram channel for a week (known as an ‘Instagram takeover’). This is a great way to cross-promote brands and partner with influencers in your field.
  4. Create a poll; share and comment on the results.
  5. “Tease” a news item — a new product announcement, a change to your business, opening a new location or re-opening your business, a move, an event, a collaboration — you get the idea!
  6. Interview someone influential in your industry; email them a set of questions and share their responses.
  7. Compile a list of something industry-related such as a curated list of articles or your favorite projects completed over the past year.
  8. Share a project case study; whether it’s an old or new project doesn’t matter as much as demonstrating your skills, quality of work and expertise.
  9. Write a review of a vendor or industry-related product or book.
  10. Share your business’ story of how you started, and what drives it forward.
  11. Tell a personal story, and tie it back into your business or philosophy; a personal story is a great way to connect with your audience!
  12. Describe some of your business’ processes.
  13. Share a customer experience story; add a client testimonial and image if you have one.
  14. Share happenings / events around your office (or home) that relate to your team or professional life.
  15. Create an infographic to share relavant information in a different way.
  16. Address a frequently asked question (this article is an example!)
  17. Recycle previous content and turn it into something new.
