We’ve been busy with revamping a unique and truly delicious breakfast smoothie product. Developed by a man who grew up in Kenya, his smoothie product was inspired by benefits a wholesome, healthy breakfast can provide. Our client, along with his team, have sourced the best grains from various regions around the globe to create UJI Smoothies – and he wanted the new branding to reflect that commitment to quality and to bringing the best of the world’s ingredients to his product.

We are looking forward to sharing with you the finished rebranding as we work to complete the new label redesign – coming soon!

Our annual client New Year’s gifts began to be delivered at the beginning of the month…and as you can see, the emails and pictures have started to roll in! This year we landed on a woodland theme, and Kathryn designed custom labels for each of the gift items included – cardamom marshmallows, buffalo peanuts, chocolate covered espresso beans – and of course, the most coveted of them all – fleur de sel caramels from The Caramel Jar. Each label features a different woodland print, including birch trees, birch bark, evergreen boughs and wood grain.

The messaging for the card, printed on raised woodgrain paper, is appropriate for a fresh new year, focusing on moving forward with a great attitude to begin 2015!

Here are just a few quotes…(don’t we have the best clients?!)

“Just got a very lovely (and incredibly delicious) package in the mail! Thank you all very much for these thoughtful little gifts. Definitely brought cheer to our less-than-lively, cold, Monday office demeanor. Happy New Year to you all, looking forward to all the exciting things 2015 has in store for us!”

“Thank you for the delightful box of treats and the new year message. I’m sharing the treats with staff, but the message (which I LOVE) is going up on my bulletin board. Thank you too for the great work this past year.”

“Super cool package came in the mail today, although I fear the treats will all be consumed by the time I get home!”

“Thank you sooooooo much for the yummy New Year’s goodies! Those caramels are the bomb!!! It was so nice of you to include me! Wishing you a great 2015!”

“From all of us to all of you…….Thank you sooooo much for the yummy treats!!!”

We make a lot of use out of our cork boards here at the studio, pinning up things like inspiration, references, colors, patterns and fonts. When we start a new project, we like to cover our boards completely, take a step back and discuss our plan of action as team. It can be one of the most exciting parts of our creative process! Take a look at some recently pinned work on the boards:

Psychologist Joshua J. Brant is a new client of ours. He specializes in golf psychology and is working on developing his own practice. Josh enlisted our help to design a logo for him that connects psychology with golf in a clean and modern style. Tune in for the reveal of
the finished logo…coming soon!

DaguePopcorn_elements_designHere is a fun project we recently completed for Dague Popcorn, family purveyors of the finest, savoriest popcorn you will ever experience. (It really is the best. And highly addicting. You have been warned!) You might remember this popcorn from our Mix It Up holiday gift.

Making delicious popcorn has always been a family passion and tradition in the Dague family. For generations, they’ve been making their popular popcorn and bringing it to local football games, selling it for school fundraisers and gifting it to those on their “nice” list during the holidays.

One unique and delightful touch the Dagues are known for are the reusable glass jars their popcorn is sold in. Not only does it keep their popcorn fresh longer, but their customers have begun to bring their glass jars back to the farmer’s market to have them refilled with one of their many flavors (they are always coming up with tempting new varieties).

Two of the Dague sisters – Mari and Barbara – finally made the jump from farmer’s markets to store shelves and they sought Elements out to help get them there.

Elements developed the Dague Popcorn brand identity / logo and packaging, which gives a nod to vintage typefaces of the past but is paired with a modern and clean sans serif font. The hand-drawn popcorn kernel lends just the right amount of whimsy, and the bright color palette stands out against the popcorn in the clear glass jars.

In the meantime, if you can’t wait to get your hands on some of this fabulous popcorn, you can pick some up in their Etsy shop. Don’t say I didn’t warn you though!

Happy 2014 to all of our clients and friends – here is January’s month in pictures.

January Tackwall

This month was a busy one – clients new and old emerged from the holiday energetic and eager to dive head-first into their 2014 marketing projects. We have been burning the midnight oil in the studio, fueled by yummy food ranging from Shoreline Cafe chicken pesto wraps to M&Ms to salted caramel popcorn to raspberry honey mustard and crackers from the Vermont Country Store (trust us, it’s delicious!)

The projects we are working on range from identities for a franchise division, artisan popcorn, portrait photographer, packaging for an innovative new ice cream, tradeshow booth and assorted collateral for a medical product launch, a large website including a robust online product catalog…and that’s just this week’s to do list!

In other Elements news, our elves were busy packing up our annual client holiday gift…and as you can see, the emails and pictures have started to roll in! This year’s theme is Mix It Up, and included sweet, salty and spicy treats. Above are just a few  Here are just a few quotes…(don’t we have the best clients?!)

Subject Line: ‘Is eating four salted caramels in one day hazardous to your health?’ “I sure hope not…better switch to popcorn. I’ve obviously received, opened, and have begun to devour the wonderful package you sent today. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Happy New Year!”

“Ever the critic, MORE SPICY PLEASE!!!”

“Thank you for the yummy package you sent us! The presentation was amazing and we’re thoroughly enjoying it! :-)”

“PHEW! What a busy productive day at work. Can’t wait to dig into some sweet and savory treats my friends at Elements sent me. THANKS GUYS!”

“Great Mix It Up box arrived today!.  I’m sharing with folks so I don’t eat all the caramels (yum). I love the foiled card!”

“Thanks @elementsdesign . I love to mix it up.”

“Thanks to @elementsdesign for the awesome and tasty snacks!”

Our team is very excited about all of the new projects we have on tap – stay tuned for more news as the year continues!
