Shoreline Adult Education

Shoreline Adult Education provides comprehensive lifelong learning opportunities for adults in the south-central region of Connecticut. Their programs encourage students to build upon their existing knowledge, skills and experience to take their lives to the next level. Elements was involved in the organization’s naming, identity, tagline, mission statement and vision statement.

Objectives

Shoreline Adult Education was in need of a total rebrand, driven by a name change. Formerly called ERACE (East Shore Region Adult & Continuing Education), the organization wanted to improve its brand with a more welcoming name and image that connects to the vibrant and diverse Shoreline community that it serves.

Solution

We started from square one — listening and learning about all aspects of the organization, its programs and its target audience. Then we developed a list of recommended naming options based on our understanding of the organization coupled with research into similar programs throughout the state. The team landed on Shoreline Adult Education as a clear and straightforward name for who they are and where they serve.

Once the name was decided, we moved onto the visual identity. We explored various options that married educational and coastal themes to create a meaningful design that’s both interesting to look at and easy to understand.

 

 

Results

The result of this collaboration is a modern new name and logo that represents the Shoreline and the community-driven values of the program.
